Abstract:
This study explored the experiences of Barangay Health Workers (BHW) in Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA) amidst this new normal. This study used the Qualitative phenomenological method of research. This study was conducted in the selected GIDA barangays in Panabo City, Davao Del Norte, Philippines. It has seven (7) participants through purposive sampling, who are the BHWs among the selected barangays with one (1) year and above work experience. The researchers used a validated interview guide questionnaire. The results have revealed that barangay health workers in the new normal experience huge adjustments in rendering healthcare services during the pandemic. Also, the results exposed that barangay health workers experience deficiency of transportation and primary health care medicines and equipment. Moreover, the results disclosed that barangay health workers aspire to gain more importance, such as additional compensation and having complete medical healthcare equipment on their respective barangays.

Abstract:
As urban areas flourished, informal settlements doubled their numbers in slew. Its manifestation is the influx of urban poor living in environmentally risky parts of the city, such as coastal areas. Aside from having a compromised settlement, their vulnerability to different hazards was prevalent. This study unfolds the plight of the informal settlers in coastal areas of the barangays Cagangohan, J.P. Laurel, and San Pedro of Panabo City; and their coping mechanisms used in dealing with the challenges in their everyday life. This inquiry used the qualitative case study research method to describe, elicit discussion, and analyze a particular situation. This has been understood through in-depth interviews with the informal settlers living along the coastal area for at least one year; and series of analyses made by the researchers. Through the data gathered, there were six (6) emerging themes extracted. These themes were the living condition predicaments, environmental health risks, struggles in family and livelihood instability, practicality and resiliency, resources utilization, and emergency tactics. This study proposes a basis for the understanding of the life experiences of informal settlers and formulation of various interventions in response to the problems, and upgrading projects for the betterment of the informal settlers; that will be undertaken in the future.

Abstract:
This study assessed the work life of differently abled public servants of Carmen, Davao del Norte. This study's main objective is to unravel the experiences of local differently abled public servants. Further, assess the dimensions of their work life based on the principles of Person-in-Environment theory, including material well-being, interpersonal relations and social inclusion, personal development, and self-determination/actualization. This study used the qualitative-descriptive method to describe and clarify human experience as it appears in people's lives. In addition, this study was conducted in the Local Government Unit of Carmen and employed a homogenous group sampling. Participants are differently abled employees in the locality served for at least six (6) months to a year. The researchers designed an interview-guide questionnaire that elicits the dimensions mentioned above. The result has shown that seven (7) emerging themes can be extracted from the work life of differently abled public servants. The first theme is the unstable employment of the participants. Another theme derived from this study is the existence of job insecurity in the sector. The study also revealed that differently abled government employees experience work impediments and work environment plight in their work life. Lastly, the study revealed the lessons and insights that we can derive from their work lives. The result of the study will aid in creating interventions and programs that best improve and impact the work life of differently abled government employees.

Article title: Capabilities and Difficulties of Barangay Officials on Local Budgeting Process

Abstract:
This study assessed the extent of capabilities and explored the encountered difficulties of barangay officials on the local budgeting process in the Municipality of Santo Tomas, Davao del Norte, Philippines. This study used the descriptive method of research with 126 respondents. The research instrument is anchored in the Department of Budget and Management Manual, wherein its reliability was tested through pilot testing. The study revealed that barangay officials can properly perform local budgeting duties and functions along with preparation, authorization, execution, and accountability processes. It also revealed a significant difference in the extent of the capability on local budgeting process of the non-degree holder and degree holder barangay officials. Furthermore, several problems encountered by barangay officials on the local budgeting process were also revealed. This study would serve as a basis for the higher authorities in fiscal administration, particularly those who are responsible for barangay governments in improving the process in budgeting.

Article title: A Causal Model on Organizational Resilience of Municipal Governments of Davao Del Norte in the New Normal

Abstract:
In this time of adversities brought by the pandemic COVID-19, municipal governments face financial, social, and organizational challenges. That if not addressed effectively, it might hamper the delivery of public services. This research was conducted with the foremost aim of generating the best fit model for municipal governments' organizational resilience. Specifically, it explores the interrelationship among variables, including public leadership, job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and organizational resilience. This study utilized quantitative, descriptive-correlational research design, and structural equation modeling. Data were sourced from 240 rank and file, permanent plantilla employees of the eight municipal governments in the Province of Davao del Norte utilizing an adapted questionnaire. The result revealed that all the exogenous variables of this study are positively and significantly correlated to the endogenous variable, which is the organizational resilience. Besides, a test of influence was conducted; the result revealed that all the endogenous variables are significantly influencing the organizational resilience. Moreover, the best fit model for organizational resilience was generated; this model met the goodness of fit measures' requirements. The best fit model for organizational resilience demonstrates the direct effect of public leadership and job satisfaction on organizational resilience. Also, it is observed that there is a correlation between the exogenous variables, public leadership, and job satisfaction. Hence, in establishing municipal governments' organizational resilience, the association between public leadership and job satisfaction should be fundamentally considered.

Abstract:
Consumers are the kings of markets. No business enterprise can operate without the presence of the consumer, and with the advancement of technology, consumers tend to make countless decisions in purchasing with the use of social media. This study aims to evaluate the influence of social media marketing on consumer buying behavior, particularly among Panabo City citizens who mostly use social media websites to purchase products and services. The study utilizes a nonexperimental quantitative research approach, combining correlational and regression techniques. Convenience sampling and Slovin's formula was used to identify the 399 respondents. With the application of mean, frequency, Pearson r, and Regression Analysis, the result shows that there is a positive, moderate, and significant correlation between social media marketing and consumer buying behavior. Thus, it has been found out that among the indicators of social media marketing, all are predictors of consumer buying behavior. Furthermore, regression analysis results revealed that social media marketing significantly influences consumer buying behavior. Hence, consumers are influenced by process factors and external stimuli brought by social media marketing.

Abstract:
This study assessed the decision making quality towards the effectiveness of conciliation process of lupong tagapamayapa. The main purpose and objective of this study is to determine which domain of decision making quality significantly influences the effectiveness of conciliation process of lupong tagapamayapa. This study used the descriptive-correlational method of research. This study was conducted in Barangay Tibal-og, Santo Tomas, Davao del Norte, Philippines and it has 100 respondents through quota sampling, who are the constituents of the barangay who availed the services of the lupong tagapamayapa. The researchers adopted two questionnaires from online sources, which were validated through pilot testing. The results have shown that the level of the decision making quality of lupong tagapamayapa is very high, additionally the results also revealed that the level of the effectiveness of conciliation process of lupong tagapamayapa is very high. The study also resulted that decision making quality and effectiveness of conciliation process of lupong tagapamayapa has a positive high significant correlation and lastly, it was found out that evaluation is the domain of the decision making quality that significantly influences effectiveness of conciliation process of Lupong Tagapamayapa. The result of the study will be used to make interventions and programs to maintain and continue the efficiency and effectiveness of lupong tagapamayapa. Abstract:
Openness to diversity is vital in improving internal group positive relationship. This study examined the influence of interpersonal and social empathy toward openness to diversity of Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) students. Furthermore, it delves what factor of interpersonal and social empathy significantly influences the openness to diversity of HUMSS students. Primary data were collected directly from the respondents through two adapted scales. The descriptive correlation method of research was used to attain the study’s objectives. The respondents of this study were the 123 grade 12 HUMSS students of Sto. Tomas National High School from school year 2019 - 2020. The findings of the study revealed that the level of interpersonal and social empathy and openness to diversity of senior high school students are both high. It was also revealed that there is a positive, high and significant relationship between interpersonal and social empathy and openness to diversity. Moreover, it was found out that the macro-perspective taking and self-other awareness are the domains that significantly influence openness to diversity. This means that if the students show consideration and sensible with other’s way of living there is a great possibility that they are open with diversity.

Abstract:
The purpose of the Rice Tariffication Law implementation is to help consumers with rising prices of rice and supporting local farmers. In particular, this research looks on how farmers in the Municipality of Carmen, Davao del Norte perceive and react to the implementation of the Rice Tariffication Law. The qualitative research method was applied in this study. Furthermore, data collection took place in Barangay Ising, Carmen Municipality, Davao del Norte, Philippines. This study employed Snowball sampling was used in this study, which included seven (7) rice farmers in the area who have been cultivating for more than five (5) years. For data collection, the researchers created an interview guide questionnaire. The findings highlighted eleven (11) emerging major themes gleaned from farmers' perspectives on the implementation of the Rice Tariffication Law. The following are the emergent themes generated from the acquired data: 1) Provision of Seeds and Fertilizers, 2) Seminars and Training for Farmers, 3) Calamity Insurance 4) Imbalanced Price Level of Harvested Rice and Farm Inputs, 5) Bureaucratic Red Tape, 6) Conflict Against Imported Rice, 7) Farm Plan, 8) Farm Budgeting, 9) Autarky, 10) Farmer's Outcry to the Government, and 11) Farmer's Perspectives on the Effects of the RTL to the Consumers. The outcomes assist the community and government in comprehending underlying implications of the Rice Tariffication Law on the farmers.

Abstract:
This study explored the practices and challenges in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic of a barangay government unit. The study used a qualitative case study method of research. This study was conducted at Barangay Nanyo, Panabo City Davao del Norte, Philippines. There were six participants responded in this research through a validated interview-guide questions. The results have shown that the practices and challenges of Barangay Nanyo in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic were focused on the implementation of safety and security protocols, communication among members of the society, and the availability of resources needed in times of lockdown. The study also revealed that to cope up with those challenges, the barangay has the initiative to come up with solutions with the help of the people’s cooperation and participation that became a big part of the success of the unit is having a zero active case since the emergence of COVID-19 pandemic in the country. The result of the study may be used as a basis for higher- authorities in crafting recommendations for other barangay government units. This will also assist other barangays officials in managing the pandemic situations in their community.

Article title: A Structural Equation Model of Academic Performance in Research of Senior High School Academic Track Students

Abstract:
The study's foremost objective is to generate a good fit model for academic performance in research of senior high school students considering academic performance in English language, academic performance in ICT, and core values as exogenous variables. This study utilized the descriptive correlational design and structural equation modeling. This study's respondents were the 366 graduates of Santo Tomas National High School, senior high school academic track for the school year 2019 - 2020. The data were taken from the advisers of senior high school students. The results revealed that the academic performance of senior high school students for the subjects English language and research, as well as the core values, were high, while the academic performance in ICT was very high. It was also revealed that all the exogenous variables are positively and significantly correlated with the endogenous variable. Besides, all the exogenous variables were found to be significantly influencing the endogenous variable. Moreover, the four models were tested through structural equation modeling, and the generated model four was found to be a good fit model for academic performance in research. The model demonstrates that academic performance in English and its association with core values are significantly predicting the students' outcomes in research.
